Should I buy a rocktron VG-05 watt portable amp?
Ok heres the story. Right now, I have a squier champ 15 watt amplifier. The distortion on it sucks but when it's clean it's good. I've been trying to sell it, so I went down to a guitar shop and they said they would buy it for 26 dollars. Then in the shop, I see this very portable little amp with distortion called the Rocktron VG-05 watt amp that costs 33 dollars. It only has 5 watts but doesn't sound too bad. Alot of rocktron products do have good reviews. Is it worth it to buy that portable amp in trade for the squier? Or should I keep the squier?
If you don't like the sound of the squier, get rid of it.
If you like the sound of the rocktron then get it.
Is it just for you to hear? If you are playing with a group, then you may want to make a bigger investment of more than $33 (actually $7 + tax with trade in). Try some others. You state that "it doesn't sound too bad," which suggests that it's still not great.
