Is this considered a good guitar?

Im 12 and my grandpa sent some christmas money. (not disclosing amount) i've been Playing Guitar for 4 months. i can play pretty well and i have an acoustic. so i've always wanted an Electric Guitar. so i got an Ibanez RG 320. its in good condition plays well and is blue and black with ice pick fret markers.

I've been impressed with most Ibenez guitars I've played. Even the lowest end Ibenez's are often quite good guitars. I don't think I've ever played an RG-320. Even if I had, that might be an exceptional guitar and the one made right after it might be a poor guitar. Remember guitars have their own personality and what's the perfect guitar for me might not be for you.

To decide if it's a good guitar check the action. It should be low, you should have no buzzing or dead spots. The pickups should give you the sound that you like, which depends on the style of music and style of guitar you play. The neck should be strait. The hardware in good working order.

More important how does it feel in your hands. You could hand me a $20,000 Strat but I'd hand it back to you and take a $700 Gibson because I really don't like Strat necks. Actually I'd probably just steal the pickups and put them in a Gibson or Ibenez. I hate the way Strats look also. The pickups are the heart of a Strat's sound and they are mighty fine pickups. That's me. You might have a whole different take.

An example is one of the best Blues/Classic Rock guitars I ever had was a $50 pawn shop special that I put $120 pickups in. Once I did every guitarist who picked that guitar up wanted to take her home with them LOL. So don't worry about cost. It's not always related to quality.

If the pickups seem weak to you, you can always upgrade them. If not stay with them. Ibenez makes good pickups.
